André Orefjärd

André Orefjärd was born and grew up in a diverse suburban area in Stockholm, Sweden. His mother is Swedish and his father is from Rwanda, which has no doubt influenced his path in music. Growing up to the sounds of Manu Dibango and Marvin Gaye, and listening to hip-hop acts like De La Soul, Pete Rock and A Tribe Called Quest, André began making music of his own, while listening to productions from Quincy Jones, DJ Cam, DJ Krush and Stuart Matthewman (the producer of Maxwell and Sade).

He moved to New York and started a web bureau until, one day, some female friends and acknowledged Swedish music journalists found his demo and it blew their mind - so they encouraged him to pursue a career in music...
