We are super excited to be announcing a very dear and long awaited debut release from Tokyo's wonder kid Mamoru K. A track with a distinct hip hop approach and feel, seriously deep bass, evolving pads and beautiful deep lush strings slowly emerging on top.

The B side kicks off with Track One, a great gem for the late hours with a pounding bassline, raw and dirty beats packed with energetic and effective builds and drops. The EP finishes off with the soulful and elegant number called Deep Space. Great feel and swing on this one with its striking synth hooks and effects. Artist: Carol
Title: Body EP

Cat No: SB026
Release date: OUT NOW!
Format: 12" Vinyl & digital download

We are honoured to present the Milan-based duo Carol consisting of Damian and Fedex. Fedex has been collecting records and dj-ing since the age of 15 when the Italian club and rave scene was about to explode. After many years of dj-ing and producing music in Italy and Germany he found his home in Milan by joining the Cockette Party Crew where he expressed his musical versatility and love for dancefloor shaking. Damian started out in London’s late 90’s electroclash scene with the cult electro band Damian and the Puzzy France and later on approached techno and house as a promoter and dj.

Damian and Fedex found it natural to join forces when they first met, sharing their passion for clubbing, vinyl, italo disco, beards, lipsticks, acid house and analogue synthesizers. Carol are now working on their debut album while releasing several remixes and bringing their live act to bear the underground scene.

The EP kicks off with Body (Original version), a deep dark groover that intensifies as it slowly builds with filtered stabs, distinct hooks and a sturdy bassline around its crisp and punchy beats. Next up is the dirty, stripped down and hypnotizing remix by Alien Alien, the shadowy side project of Hugo Sanches and Rodion (Gomma, Eskimo). On the flip side you get the late night floor packer Body (My Mess Mix). Atmospheric pads, strings and texture on top of the driving beat and its growling bass will definitely please the decadent clubbing crowd. The EP ends nicely with a comfortable and smooth dub version.

Title: Serotinal Evenings EP

Cat No: SB025
Release date: OUT NOW!
Format: 12" Vinyl & digital download

Non-smoking, 5'11", veteran Deep House music producer originally from Derbyshire, slowly greying but still looks distinctly average for age, is seeking the ultimate groove for creation. Must be up for good times, deep beats, soulful vibes and the occasional chilled night in. Enjoys nicely syncopated rhythms, heavy melodies, outgoing quirkiness and a quality glass of cheap Brandy and Coke - hold the ice. At weekends, likes to lead a more refined lifestyle, with his current favourite stench being anything by YSE Saint Laur'ant. Bangs out music as one half of the Matlock super duo Rhythm Plate so comes with a bit of history, mostly spanning 18+ years of DJing in clubs (was the only legal way of getting in!) and 15+ years of music releasing and remixing for numerous labels (Pressed For Time, Whiskey Disco, Lost My Dog, Winding road rec, Ornate Music, Faux Métier etc) and artists; but don't let that put you off.

Yes, Yes, Yes!!! A hot, hot, hot 3- tracker from Domu. Original quality underground housemusic all the way! A heavy package of kick, bass and atmospheres with a whole lot of finesse. Raw Baby and Dusk is the perfect toy when it comes to primetime business (and we are talking serious deep bass). Artist: Partners In Crime
Title: Goin' Underground b/w Get In To It

Cat No: SB017
Release date: OUT NOW!
Format: 12" Vinyl & digital download

This is the first release from Partners In Crime (aka Beatfanatic), which is a new swedish 80´s electronic disco project. Goin Underground is a fierce peaktime disco groover with cosmic styled synths, pumping beat and catchy bassline, very much in the flavour of Giorgo Moroder. On the flipside you will find Get In To It which is a slick, sensual, and balearic mid-tempo groover.

Beatfanatic is a one of Stockholms most productive producers, well known for his many productions for labels such as GAMM, Raw Fusion and as well his own imprint Sound Scape Records, to name few…

SOME FEEDBACK...

"Really dig this, send it over!"

- Blackjoy (Yellow Productions)

"Get in to it- is nice 80's style groover."
- Charles Webster (Miso Records)

"Really like Goin' Underground but if it would have been much slower it would be sexier IMO. Still a very well performed build up and I imagine it works great on a dancefloor! Quality release!"
- Andreas Saag aka Swellsession

"Get In To It is my fave here, I'm a sucker for those slow grooooves!"
- Simon Harrison (Basic Soul)

"A tasty 3 tracker ep; Goin' Underground, as it says on the tin, deep and spacey disco, groovy b- line and the additional of strings and electro stabs..- 6/10. Get in to it - slowmo spacey disco, defo a mellowed out groove with the haunting male vox. This is made for those lazy sunny afternoons... Feelin' this tune 7/10. Goin' Underground (PIC edit) - this edit gets beefed up beats, still retains the spacey disco effects and is defo a dancefloor groover... Lovin' the extra horns and strings... look forward to the release on vinyl."
- Nick the Greek

"Get In To It is my shit!!!"
- Still Rob G (Om Records)

"Quality!!!!! Get In To It is killing me. Will find a rightous place also to play Goin' Underground. Wonderful release, guys!"

Goin' Underground - not typical track for my dj set... but i can imagine myself playing it on a bigger floor or festival... - Eddy Ramich (Eddy meets Yannah)

"I like the summery vibes of Get In To It - we'll play this on the radio show - thanks."
- Andrew Jervis (Ubiquity Records)

Opolopo & Amalia is back with a funky fresh 4 tracker. On this one you will find Under the Radar whitch will take you into 2009 in a futuristic way. "Absolutely rockin' shhh, feelin' da remixes as well, will play & chart (2nd Swedish Brandy on da chart , daaamn u guyz r on fire!!!) BIG UP" - Dj Simbad

"This is sick and mad. I will play and support!" - Alex Attias

I have loved Under The Radar for a minute, I think it is fresh and fat and a winner! My only worry is now everyone knows about one of my secret bombs! Deeper Shade of Soul is a sweet mix, and my mixes aren't too bad either! Great package worthy of spins from many different DJs. - Domu 10/10

A-up, well, what a package! Under the Radar wont go under mine - wobbly vsti overload thats tighter than a gnats vagina = top groover. Street Lights shine brightest on a nice summer evening = make a brandy 'n' coke, hold the ice though. While I do means I wont. Wont not play this out that is. Tar. - Ant Plate

Title: M.U.S.I.C. - The Atjazz Remixes

Cat No: SB015
Release date: OUT NOW!
Format: 12" Vinyl & digital download

The legendary producer, Dj and recordlabelowner Atjazz (Mantis Recordings) gives us two killer-remixes of Andre Zimma's broken beat afro-inspired track M.U.S.I.C. Atjazz, with his magic touch, turns this track into strictly NYC pressure. Played and charted by people like Gilles Peterson, Onsulade (which directly requested the track for his compilation Passage on BBE), Karizma and Opolopo to name a few.

On the flipside Atjazz delivers his stunning dub-mix, that carries a stripped smoking package of deep bass and dubby chords. So just drop the needle for a second, and you find that both cuts are essential dancefloor material with the purpose of making the crowd groove and move!

RAVELINE MAGAZINE
5/6 - Carsten Becker

GROOVE MAGAZINE
Funktioniert jedes Mal-versprochen.

Artist: Comfort Fit
Title: Never Look Back EP

Cat No: SB014
Release date: OUT NOW!
Format: 12" Vinyl & digital download

This is the first long- awaited release by Comfort Fit on the Swedish Brandy label. On this seven track ep you will find a broad perspective of sounds and flavours ranging from hip hop, street soul, beats to nu- jazz, with exellent vocal contributions by Mercury Waters (spitkickers.com), Blaktroniks and Nicole Hadfield.

These cripsy beats are ripe with thumping funk and jazz influences, sample wizardry and daring shuffles. Composed with the help of unique sound plugins which were especially programmed to measure Comfort Fit’s needs and wishes, we think the chances aren’t bad that you’ll fall for the unique sound signature, bounce and elegance of this tight hip hop production. Like the best mixtapes this thing plays even strongly as a whole - no matter if it’s about classic jazz impressions like Miles of Smiles, scarily deep intergalactic grooves as in Astro Dancin´or the hip hop bomb State of Mind, all the tracks are locked together closely. The Never Look Back EP is more than just beat fodder for your next mixtape, “it’s a very personal diary of mine. I feel music is my natural form of expression, not words”, as Comfort Fit says. “It is very important for me to escape from the noise pollution of the cities and from the media hypes going on. I’d rather create my own”. This is the perfect masterpeice for the leftfield, opendminded dj´s and music conuseurs.

SOME FEEDBACK...

"All tracks are amazing, State of Mind is timeless!" - Atjazz (Mantis Recordings)

”The new 12” from Comfort Fit is mad dope! Big Up!” - Freddie Cruger aka Red Astaire

” Extremely classy release with a number of useful tracks for different points of my sets. In Simple words is my pick but State of Mind needs a special mention. Wonderful production & it goes without saying that this release will receive my full attention in the coming months. Quality!” - Ian Allan

"Fascinating release, different styles and still keeping the jazz in mind. Already aired Something to Do. Like the SB rooster, keep up the good work, guys. Thank you very much!" - Matthias Desch (Bogaloo Radioshow)

”I really like the Comfort Fit 12”, number three in my chart.” - Michael Reutten (Soulsearching Studios - Frankfurt)

Artist: Opolopo
Title: Madness EP

Cat No: SB013
Release date: OUT NOW!
Format: 12" Vinyl & digital download

Swedish producer Opolopo has been immersed in soulful music since early childhood. Having a keyboard playing father with a respectable collection of jazz, soul and fusion records, laid out the obvious musical path. Artists like Herbie Hancock, Jeff Lorber, Earth Wind & Fire, Bob James, George Duke, Quincy Jones, Chaka Khan and Gino Vannelli started him off and are still major influences.

After been doing productions and remixes for the majors he’s now following his own path, focusing on jazz and soul influenced dance music. His productions and remixes have been supported by, among others, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Daz-I-Kue, Afronaught, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Rainer Trüby, Patric Forge, Solid Steel, Dez Parkes and Kristi Lomax.

First time out on the Swedish Brandy label Opolopo hits us with the Madness EP. This EP gives us a nice blend of various of styles that will fit any club or dancefloor. The title track Madness feat. Nadine Francois could be described as vocal soulful house with loads of energy and interesting instrumentation. We also get the alternative Reach for the Stars Mix. This mix is slightly more broken that ends up in a straight 4/4.

The flipside starts of with the funk-breakbeat moster Unidentified Funky Object. Crisp, heavy drums and base on this one, with strong influences from the sounds of Herbie Hancock etc. The second track Lorber continues in the same funky spirit but with a slight touch of the underground west London sound.

SOME FEEDBACK...

"Every time I hear music from Opolopo, my spirit lifts a little more. Technically and musically gifted, his risk taking grows with his confidence on every release. An undoubtedly necessary warrior in the new underground resistance to the norm." - Domu

"Always challenging, constantly surprising and definitely one of the leaders of the euro new school. louder!!!" - Mark de Clive Lowe

"Opolopo and Amalia together is like FIRE!!!!!...I have to wear my oven mits to play their tunes!" - Daz-i-kue

"Opolopo, madness & reach for the stars remix are technical bliss, Awesome vocal production, free as a bird! Beautiful." - Atjazz (Mantis Recordings)

”Great Ep with quality throughout but Madness is far & away the best track here. Loving both mixes but the original just edges it. Lots of plays will follow & I will support this at every opportunity!” - Ian Allan

"The right release in combination with opolopos album release in japan. Future funk at its best. Can you do the european licensing of the opolopo album? ;-) Big up!" - Matthias Desch (Bogaloo Radioshow)

Title: The Swedu.s.h Connection 2

Cat No: SB012
Release date: OUT NOW!
Format: 12" Vinyl & digital download

2007 sees the second release of the Swedu.s.h Connection series. This time Texas-based Dj Chicken George compiles a stunning four track EP with various artists from all over the US, stretching from San Fransisco in the west to Philly in the east.

Rocking turntables worldwide and representing San Francisco, CA J-Boogie blends his eclectic beats on the radio, at the club and in the studio. As a producer for labels like Om Records, Ubiquity and Future Primitive Sounds, J- Boogie’s Dubtronic Science mixes Downtempo, Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk, Latin, Disco, Dub, Dancehall, Afrobeat, Electro and House into a spicy musical gumbo.

Since its founding in 2000, Illvibe Collective has been solidifying its eminence as Philadelphia’s most prolific, well-respected DJ crew. An amalgam of partyrockers and turntablists extraordinaire whose combined experience totals over a half-century, this five-man family, comprised of Statik, Panek, Phillee Blunt, Lil Dave and Skipmode, has been making an indelible mark on the Illadelph music scene, both individually and as a team. Pick your poison: dancefloors, mixtapes or radio airwaves, and its guaranteed that Illvibe Collective will rock ’em well – with their loyal, worldwide following as co-signers.

Her fans run the gamut - from progressive artists like Moby, Kindred the Family Soul, India Arie, Joan Osborne, Musiq and Les Nubians to regular working-class folk in West London clubs and West Philly barbershops. In cities everywhere from Atlanta and Amsterdam to Toronto and Tokyo, vocal sensation Alma Horton – known to her fans worldwide as Lady Alma - has become the name to know, deemed ”the heart & soul of Philadelphia’s soul scene” and heralded as ”the truth in a room ful of lies” among tastemaker’s circles.

Ocote Soul Sounds is the new thing from Martín Perna, (founder of Antibalas and longtime TV on the Radio collaborator), teaming up with guitarist/producer Adrian Quesada (ESL Music, Aire Sol Records, Freestyle Records) of Grupo Fantasma. This funk is best served with peyote washed down with a shot of tequila.

From vinyl manipulation on the turntables, to current production of jazz infused hiphop tracks, NickNack is a true soundcraftsman. His musical journey began in the late 80’s after making the transition from hiphop spectator to participant. Cutting his teeth from the very beginning as a young appreciative turntablist knocking off rivals at Dallas’ Sound Wars battles in the mid-nineties, Nick has worked hard to encompass a broad vision of ability, and a verbose sense of instrumentality, to match his already fruitful passionfor music.

SOME FEEDBACK...

Very cool EP, especially Overthrowed with that jazz feel in there. Played it on the show, will play it in the warm up sections of my gigs also. 9/10 - Michael Rütten (Soulsearching)

Lot sot choose from on the release... Phat label, phat 12"... Suga Deadly & What They Say are the heavy hitters here.. Full support on Radio, and more laid back DJ Sets FO SHO! 8/10 - Atjazz (Mantis)

Excellent release with quality throughout. All four tracks have gained plays in my sets so far & will continue to do so for a long while yet. Fantastic collection & a pleasure to include in my sets!!! 9/10 - Ian Allan (Lazy Days Music)

Excellent tasty comp. Illvibe works well on the floor but it is Adrian Quesada that makes my people behave like Quantic and Nickodemus did it together... Deep stuff that lasts. 9/10 - M.Path.Iq (De Bug)

All’n’all a very very nice release, I really appreciate the open-minded styles, even if I prefer the funkier afrobeat-track does not mean that I don’t like the others. Quality production on all four songs. Keep that level! 8/10 - Tobias Kirmayer (Tramp Records/ Perfect Toy)

LUCKY 13 - XLR8R MAGAZINE

Four lovely tracks here- from the Afro-Latin vibes of Adrian Quesada's Overthrowed! to J-Boogie's groovy funk to the broken-soul of illvibe featuring Lady Alma. Cocktails for Chicken George and the Texas-Swedish connection! Toph One

Peter Hagen

Title: The Calm EP

Cat No: SB011
Release date: OUT NOW!
Format: 12" Vinyl & digital download

Following up the success with The Turbulence EP, Swedish Brandy Productions presents the The Calm EP. On this five tracker you will find the uptempo club-killer Hope Is On The Way, featuring Terry Lovique. Terry, born in Bassett, USA, has been touring with Ayman, P Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, Carl Thomas, 112 and Lil Cease. He’s also had the chance to work with Jennifer Rush and R. Kelly to name a few.

The track BC23 could be described as a rough clubtool as BC is short for bass check. The concept is stripped, crunchy with deep beats and nice chords rocking along with a killer bassline.

Time Exists In Memories gives us a view of the eclectic fusion between electronica, folk, soul and brazillian flavours. Pure listening pleasure, as Thief blesses us with his vocals and melodies. This song has already recieved attention on Resoul`s & Jazzanova’s compilation Secret Love 3. The instrumental version is included as well.

Further more you find the track Take It ´n´ Make It featuring Jane Hamilton. Jane is known for her colaborations with Magic Number, Clyde and Capitol A on Mantis Records. Not to mention the work she did with Slope and Deyampert on the song It´s You, whitch is in Theo Parrish’s Top Ten All Times Favourites.

Artist: André Orefjärd
Title: Put Your Love On Me b/w Cookin'

Cat No: SB008
Release date: OUT NOW!
Format: 12" Vinyl & digital download

Already introduced through his track Cookin featured on the Current Cuts Compilation, Andre Orefjard now delivers his first vinyl EP for Swedish Brandy entitled Push Your Love On Me. The dancefloor jazzed out title track leads the way with its relaxed attitude, sweetened by the plush and seductive vocal stylings of Emma Åström. It's followed by the slowly cascading, jazzy instrumental vibes of A Midnight Symphony.

On the B-side, May Yamani adds her soulful vocal spice to the bubbling jazz beats of Cookin. This track's got a strong, positive vibe with a nice deep bass that blends perfectly with the subtle Moog keys and completes this EP very well - André's jazz sounds and production have matured and perfectly play in tune with some very sweet vocal work.

Title: Choice Cuts Vol. 1

Cat No: SB007
Release date: OUT NOW!
Format: 12" Vinyl & digital download

If you measure the quality of hip-hop on whether or not it brings out your shuffle, pay attention to Hyrdroponic Sound System. From the hilarious lyrics of Ray's Bodega, to the true words of Play The Role and Distractions these tracks are a fresh mix of soul, funk, spanish guitar, spacey synths and deep, indie hip-hop flavor.

The b-side's gonna surprise you with two lusciously smooth downtempo tracks entitled Modern Atmospheres and Disconnected. Modern Atmospheres drops laid-back, Chemical Brothers styled beats, that get softened up with synth pads, jazz flute and guitar, along with subtly spoken, vocal loops. Disconnected goes for an old school IDM-tinged flavor with lo-fi bass kicks and snares over a backdrop of vinyl static and mellow organ that gets joined by flanged and reverbed vocals. Choice Cuts Vol. 1 is definitely eclectic. Having been introduced to Hydroponic Sound System on DJ Chicken George's The Swed.u.s.h Connection, this ep makes for an excellent second impression.

DE:BUG MAGAZINE
Weiter geht die Swed.u.s.h Connection. Baustelle Dallas. Also doch kein Brandy. 4/5 - m.path.iq

Title: Madness EP

Cat No: SB003
Release date: OUT NOW!
Format: 12" Vinyl & digital

Fredrik Lager aka Freddie Cruger & Red Astaire first got in contact with hip-hop when he started out as a break dancer in the early 80's. His electric boogie dancing brother was collecting records at that time, which introduced Freddie to the world of black dance music. Around 85-86 he worked weekends at a legendary import record store in Stockholm called Space (special job cleaning the toilet). At this time he started buying more and more records, mostly electro and rap records but also disco and funk 12"/ 7" classics. One thing led to another and he soon bought his first drum machine and turntables in 88 (according to himself the best investment he's ever done).

Around 92 he bought his first sampler and released his first 12" vinyl in 94 under the name Chimney Heads (only 100 copies printed). But since then he's worked with numerous artists like China Moses (DeDe Bridgewaters daughter), Bob Powers (Tribe Called Quest, The Roots), Rappadon, Baz Baz, La Nata (France), ADL, Desmond Foster, Linn, Swing Fly, Anthony David, Bas-1 and many more. The characteristic style off Freddies productions are a blend off old school hip-hop and b-boy grooves mixed up with dirty funk, soul, reggae, latin and disco rhythms. Besides this he's also travelling the world as a renowned DJ spinning everything from future to old-school funk, soul, hip hop, reggae, disco and latin.
